Franklin Foer, author of Joe Biden’s biography, has stated that it would not be surprising if the president withdraws his re-election attempt by the end of the year. Foer, who conducted 300 interviews for his book The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future, also suggested that Biden’s religious convictions could influence his decisions. Foer mentioned Bob Woodward, an 80-year-old Watergate reporter who, like Biden, is 80. Biden privately admitted to feeling ‘weary’ amid age-related issues, and he would not be surprised if he dropped his re-election attempt. Foer also stated that respondents believe Biden is too elderly to seek re-election, with only 39% of voters favoring the White House incumbent. According to a Wall Street Journal poll published on Monday, 73% of Americans believe Biden is too old to run for re-election, compared to 47% who believe the same of Donald Trump, who is three years younger at 77.
