The Israeli head of intelligence is worried that Russia may sell advanced weapons and materials to Iran, endangering Israeli lives and threatening the country’s ability to defend itself.

Mossad Director David Barnea made the accusation that Tehran supplied Moscow with kamikaze drones after the commencement of the second Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict in February 2022 during a speech given Sunday at the annual conference of the Institute of Counter-Terrorism Policy at Reichman University in Herzliya.

According to Barnea, as reported by the Times of Israel: “Our fear is that the Russians would deliver to the Iranians in exchange what they lack, modern weapons that will undoubtedly imperil our peace, and maybe even our existence here.”

Barnea said that Iran is looking for methods to acquire new missile technology and more powerful drones and accused Tehran of deploying “proxy squads” to kill Jews in Israel and abroad.
