The giant Russian search engine Yandex wants to exit the country’s domestic market
Russian internet Yandex Dutch holding is on the market as the Kremlin looks for purchasers in order to sell to a Kremlin-connected tycoon who is under Western sanctions. The hunt is happening after Yandex’s earlier negotiations to sell its operations and leave Russia fell apart. Sergei Kiriyenko, the first deputy chief of staff in the Kremlin, presented three new prospective buyers in June, with financier Ivan Tavrin being the only Russian individual who fits the Kremlin’s standards. The talks have not yet reached a conclusion, and many people are talking about the possibility of nationalization.
