India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held the inaugural Leaders Meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council on Monday in Delhi.

The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including economic and military stability as well as healthcare and food security. MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi updated the public on X.

Bin Salman had visited India on a state visit in February of this year.

According to the statement, the two groups will address all aspects of their bilateral ties, including the political, security, defense, trade, economic, cultural, and people-to-people spheres.

India is Saudi Arabia’s second-largest commercial partner, with bilateral trade totaling $52.75 billion in the fiscal year 2022–23, a record high.

There are around 2.4 million people of Indian descent living in Saudi Arabia.

Each year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides free passage for about 175,000 Indian Muslims to make the Hajj pilgrimage.
