An enormous explosion in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, caused by detonating electric car batteries, killed one person and injured 160 others. The explosion occurred near the airport in a customs warehouse, inflicting damage to neighboring buildings and the airstrip. A 15-year-old boy died when a frame fell on top of him. Despite initial reports to the contrary, authorities have disputed that the explosion was the result of a plane crash. The explosion jolted the city awake by shattering glass and causing damage to  numerous surrounded buildings. nonetheless, one of the airport’s runways was closed for several hours.
