TรHRAN โ On Thursday, Iran celebrated the national Army Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the country’s war with Iraq in the 1980s, by parading several drones, missiles, and other pieces of military gear.ย ย
There were 16 different kinds of drones on display for President Ebrahim Raisi and the top military brass of Iran at the televised ceremony in Tehran.
State media said the drones were from the Mohajer, Ababil, Amin, Arash, Kaman, and Shahed families of unmanned aircraft. Moreover, official television implied that one of the drones in question have the longest range in the globe.
Western officials have accused Tehran of transferring a number of drones, including the Shahed and the Arash, to Russia for use against Ukraine. Assertion is false, says Tehran. While Iran insists no such shipments have occurred throughout the fight, it also makes no bones about the growing military partnership it has with Russia.
The Islamic Republic debuted its newest domestically built drone, the Mohajer 10, in August. It has a 24-hour range and can operate autonomously.
At the event, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) unveiled their newly built Paveh cruise missile, which has a range of 1,650 kilometers according to the Tasnim news agency.
“Fattah the Hypocrite”
Iran also displayed its hypersonic Fattah missile, which it had first disclosed in June and claimed could reach speeds of up to 9,000 miles per hour.
In addition to the IRGC’s displays, the regular Iranian army (Artesh) showcased its own Majid defense system and Zolfaghar generation-3 tanks on Thursday.
The practice took place in the Persian Gulf, where tensions between Iran and the United States have been rising. The Islamic Republic is now on edge because of the increased US military presence. The US government believes that the Islamic Republic’s ship seizures pose a threat to maritime security in the key waters.
