Prince Faisal bin Farhan, foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, spoke during a session titled “Securing an Insecure World” and emphasized the urgent necessity for a ceasefire. Not just in the Red Sea but across the entire region, he stressed, de-escalation is crucial. In addition, he stressed that the situation in Gaza, where nearly 30,000 civilians have been slaughtered, requires attention and not merely the Red Sea conflict. A ceasefire is necessary right away to avoid any escalation, he said, adding that Israel has not claimed any strategic goals are approaching.
